Andalas University Roads are Extremely Damaged, Is It Dangerous?

     PADANG (22/10) - A number of students of Andalas University (UNAND), West Sumatera, complained about the damaged roads in the campus area especially in the main road to get to campus.

         Andalas University or commonly known as UNAND is one of the best universities in Indonesia. According to this statement, of course, we expected that all of the facilities are in good condition, including access to the campus too. However, this is not the truth because there are many roads in some area which is damaged and bumpy, even these roads are hollow. The road is very important for almost all of the activities in our life because it is the access for us to go from one place to another place. It is more important for those who whose work is related to go everywhere every day. They need the road to go to their destination. But, imagine, what happens if the road itself is damaged or in a bad condition? Will, it affect people's activities? Or even can cause an accident?

           Even though the damaged roads does not happen in all of the roads in UNAND, but there are some spots where the condition of the road is extremely bad. This condition is really serious because people tink this problem is not really big but they don't know that a small problem can cause a big problem. The several spots where these roads are very damaged are near the gate, near the library and on the road to Convention Hall.

           To ensure that this problem is exactly trouling, we have already interviewed some of the students of Andalas University. One of them is the student of English Department of Andalas University, Sepni Ilmi said "This is certainly unfortunate because how can the road that is considered as the main road be severely damaged like his. It can also obstruct the students to go to campus especially in the morning because sometimes that road is jammed.

           "This problem can also damage the good image of UNAND. Imagine if students from other universities come to UNAND and see the road condition that is very worrying while what they know UNAND is one of the best universities", added Sepni. 

        Another student of English Department, Melindawati also argued that this problem really bothers all of the people who want to get to UNAND especially the motorists. Moreover, if there is heavy rain, of course, we should be extra careful because if we don't, we probably have an accident because sometimes we don't realize that the road is damaged and hollow. 

           When we asked about what is their wish for the damaged roads, both of them hope that those roads will be fixed soon so that the students and people who are passing by those roads will be more comfortable and safer. They really hope that UNAND will immediately repair the road as soon as possible so that it can reduce the risk of accidents.

    I do agree.
    Unand need to repair the road so that the driver and walker feel comfortable when go through the road.

Kita ini kenapa?

Kita ini lagi kenapa sih? Mungkin pertanyaan ini memang tidak berdasar. Bisajadi hanya aku saja yang merasa kita sedang kenapa-kenapa. Sebenarnya aku sudah lelah bertanya pada diri sendiri ada apa dengan kita? Tidak pernah satu kalipun aku berfikir bahwa kita akan berakhir seperti ini. Lucu memang.
